Just as Des Moines is at the confluence of two rivers so is the transit hub a crossroads for its citizens. The artwork echoes the clean lines of the depot’s architecture. The blue curves represent the rivers, the stripes the original quirky orientation of the city’s streets, and the yellow line zipping across it is the Des Moines rapid transit system.
