Feature wall for the Argyle Street Red Line El stop. The Argyle station is in the retail and restaurant hub of a neighborhood that is strongly Asian-identified. The challenge was to create a distinct, welcoming marker that didn’t fall into cliched symbols and acknowledges that Asian cultures are not monolithic. Cornucopia references the abundance of traditions that gather in this neighborhood while cooperating as a community. The variety of forms in the composition represents the many different people who pass through the station every day.
